Indigenous Ministry

At Bobbin Head Anglican Church, we have begun to explore opportunities to partner with a remote Anglican community of indigenous brothers and sisters in the Northern Territory.

We have established a warm link with the Anglican Diocese of the Northern Territory, under the leadership of Bishop Greg Thompson. We are delighted to be able to partner with - through financial and prayer support - the Rev. Tom Slockee, who from 2010 will Canon Missioner in the Diocese.

We pray for Tom (and for his wife Muriel) as he takes up this new ministry, as he seeks to build relationships with indigenous leaders and provide support and encouragement.

In 2009, a team from BHAC attended Katherine Christian Convention as an expression of our desire to serve and partner with indigenous Christians in the Northern Territory. A team will be attending KCC again in 2010. For more information, speak to Steve Calder or Belinda Burn.
