The biblical reason - throughout the scriptures we are shown the pattern - that the financial cost of local church ministry ought to be shared by the members of that church (Acts 2:42-47, 1 Cor 8:1-15). We are also exhorted to give cheerfully and generously, with an awareness of how much God has done for us (2 Cor 9:7). Furthermore, we are warned of the dangers of money becoming our master, of foolish stewardship over the finances entrusted to us, through either over protection or irresponsible spending on things that do not last (Luke 16:1-13).

The practical reason - all the financial expenses of BHAC are covered by our members. With the exception of rare additional support (eg: ‘JobKeeper’ in 2020), we rely exclusively on the contributions of our members to fund the yearly expenses of our ministries at BHAC.

The anticipated reason - as we increase our shared financial resources, we are able to invest in more resources that may help to reach out and grow God’s people, both locally and further afield.
